Abstract

The connection between age-related dynamics and gender differences, as referred to morbidity and mortality, is outlined, suggesting the involvement of endocrine mechanisms in programming/ imprinting and embedding phenomena, including the contribution of glucocorticoids and sex steroid hormones.
